A penis puppeteer’s view from the stage in Vernon, BC…
“Puppetry of the Penis” is on tour in regional British Columbia. Coming up is a week in Seattle, then eastwards to many tour dates including Calgary, Toronto, Philly and Chicago. More info here.
“Slava’s Snowshow” ended it’s 3-week Melbourne run in Melbourne today, and moves to Perth. Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise attended the final day matinee, as reported in the Herald-Sun.
It’s the theatre event of the year. No, the decade!! The Pee-wee Herman Show returns to the live stage, opening in LA in November. Highlights from the barrage of media excitement include the LA Times, Entertainment Weekly and Hollywood Reporter. (One EW.com reader commented “Got my tickets! I am flying from Florida because I would not miss this for anything!”)
Our New Zealand tour has been even more successful than we hoped. The sold out Christchurch Arts Festival run closed Sunday; and the Taranaki Arts Festival run just opened, with every seat sold in advance.
Christchurch’s Head of Communications, Garreth Spillane, wrote: Having been working on the Festival and marketing the Solid Energy Season of SLAVA’S SNOWSHOW for four months now, I have to admit that SLAVA fatigue was beginning to set in. This morning however I sat in the St James Theatre and managed to be blown away by this fabulous show. SLAVA’S SNOWSHOW is a work of magic that will enrich its audience – it celebrates humanity and theatricality and the wonder of what can be done when a simple idea is executed perfectly. Please, don’t miss it!
This week’s edition of Pollstar magazine — their Mid-Year Report — includes the TOP 100 WORLDWIDE PROMOTERS. Foster Entertainment came in at #95, our first time on the list.
Puppetry of the Penis is returning to New York for a limited summer engagement at 45 Bleecker. Only just announced, it went on sale on Monday, and is already selling strongly.
